Gothic Arch – Chocolate

Standard

Arch_chocolatewebThe Gothic Arch Challenge from last week was CHOCOLATE & as strange as it sounds, I am one of those strange people who doesn’t really like it that much.  I am happy enough with the outcome, but I really struggled to come up with something for this topic.  I have finally gotten on top of it, meet Baron Von Chocolate & Sons.    Chocolate was primarily taken in the form of a drink when it was first introduced, it’s origins can be traced way back to Mexico around 980.  It wasn’t until 18th & 19th century that people regularly made it in solid forms. These are vintage advertisements for chocolate that was extolled with all kinds of health giving properties. The background to the front is chocolate recipes from an old publication of Mrs. Beeton’s.  The rows of chocolates at the bottom is from a greeting card from last year & the ornamental paper are scraps stamped from Collections(TM) new range.
